Several employers have recently complained that their podiatry team underperforms when there are no incentives.
If you look at the definition of incentives, in general, incentives are anything that persuades a person to alter their behaviour. Therefore, incentives are a poor motivator because they are behaviour based.
When you’re in the room with a patient, it’s not YOU, it’s about the patient, and it’s not about incentives; you either do your job or you don’t.
If you’re not prepared to give your patient 100% or offer other treatment options available because your employer isn’t giving you a bonus, THAT’S YOUR ATTITUDE.
