Beware of Fake Ulanzi MA38 Phone Stands Being Sold on Social Media

If you’ve been seeing ads for the Ulanzi MA38 Mobile Phone Photography Stand all over Facebook and Instagram, you’re not alone. The videos look great; magnetic mount, compact tripod, rigid build, perfect for gym videos, travel content, or filming hands-free. So I ordered two… and what showed up was nowhere near the product being advertised.

Instead of the branded Ulanzi build, I received two cheap, unlabelled, flimsy copies in a soft mailing bag. The hinge barely worked, the magnet was weak, and the whole thing looked like it would snap in a week.

The company behind the ad denied that anything was wrong, despite it being clearly a different product.

Thankfully, I paid with PayPal and got a full refund, but not everyone will be that lucky.

After that, I ordered the real Ulanzi MA38 from Amazon. It arrived in three days, properly packaged and clearly branded.

The difference in quality was apparent as soon as I picked it up. Strong magnet, smooth hinge, solid build, proper tripod mount, and the Ulanzi logo on the device.

So here’s the takeaway:
If you want the real thing, don’t buy through random Facebook ads. Buy through Amazon or an official seller.
