Develop A Training Program that Works

Mar 13, 2022

Do you have a training program for new and recent podiatry graduates that can take them from where they currently are to where you want them to be and do it in the shortest period possible?

If You Don’t, It’s Costing You Money

If you have a new employee and they sign a two-year contract, and it takes you 12-months to get them up to speed and make them productive, you only get 12-months of total productivity.

However, if you can speed up this process and get them up to speed in 3-months, you get 21-months of total productivity, which equates to a lot more money for your podiatry business.

Ask the Question

Ask yourself, where do you want them to be skill-wised, and when do you want them to achieve this? Ask your employees the same question, where do they want to be and by what timeframe.

It helps if you’re on the same page.

Don’t Give Employees Your Leftovers

I don’t believe in asking an employee to do anything I’m not prepared to do myself. Please do not make the mistake of giving them all your general podiatry work, home visits and nursing homes because you don’t want to do it anymore.

If you don’t enjoy it, there’s probably a good reason.

And don’t keep all the BIO or MSK patients for yourself; make sure you share them around so your new employee can improve their skills.

Remember, the faster you can train them, the better it is for your business, and you may even keep them past the initial two-year agreement.
