The Power of Learning, Sharing & Teaching

LIVERPOOL Mon. 3rd of Feb. 2025 In this week's video, I break down a three-part concept that can help elevate your career and life: Learn, Share, and Teach. This approach keeps your personal and professional growth in motion and ensures you become a resource to others in the process.

1. Learning: Constant Growth

  • Learning is about building your skillset and expanding your knowledge base.
  • How to learn:
    • Read books and listen to audiobooks
    • Attend workshops, conferences, or networking events (inside and outside your field)
    • Engage a mentor or business coach—paid or free (but remember, you often get what you pay for).
  • The key message: Always stay on a path of continuous learning. There’s always something new to explore, even if you’re experienced in your profession.

2. Sharing: Reciprocal Learning

  • Sharing involves engaging with people at your level or above.
  • This fosters reciprocal learning, which thrives in mastermind groups and other collaborative spaces.
  • Why is it important to share with people at your level or higher?
    • Conversations are more meaningful when you engage with peers or mentors with comparable or superior knowledge.
    • It helps avoid stagnation—if you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room!

3. Teaching: Passing the Torch

  • The final stage is teaching, where you give back by lifting others up.
  • Teaching can take many forms:
    • Recommending podcasts, books, or other resources
    • Offering guidance—whether free or paid
    • Providing direct knowledge within your area of expertise
  • Stay in your lane:
    • Only teach what you’re qualified to teach—don’t pretend to be an expert on things you don’t understand.
    • Example: I wouldn’t teach about cryptocurrency, even if I understand it on a basic level.
  • Teaching reinforces one's own learning—it completes the cycle of mastery. When one can teach something, it means one has truly understood it.

Conclusion

The process of Learn, Share, and Teach forms a continuous loop, helping you grow, connect, and contribute.

  • Learn to build your knowledge and skills.
  • Share your insights with those at your level or above.
  • Teach others, completing the circle and ensuring knowledge spreads.
