Building Your Podiatry Network Through Travel

Last week, I conducted an On-site Training Day at Sole Focus Podiatry in Toowoomba with Jessica Haydock and her team. It was a very productive day, and it got me thinking about the benefits of visiting podiatry clinics whenever you travel.

Of course, I was in Toowoomba to deliver my training program, but before this, I always made it a habit to visit podiatrists when I travelled; you can learn so much, and it is a great way to develop long-term podiatry relationships and build your professional network, both nationally and overseas.

ON-SITE TRAINING DAYS

If you want to learn more about my on-site team training days, please email me at email/tf)(tysonfranklin.com. We can then arrange a Zoom call to discuss your clinical and business needs, as no two podiatry businesses are the same.

Building Your Podiatry Network Through Travel

[00:00:00] Hey, how you doing? I am out the front of Sole Focus Podiatry in Toowoomba. So during the week I did an On-site Training Day with Jessica's team, which is fantastic. But the reason I'm doing this video is not just to promote that I do on-site training days, but also I think it's really important whenever you're traveling, no matter where you go, if you know there is an awesome podiatry clinic in that area, you should make an effort to go and reach out to that podiatrist and ask them if you can visit.

[00:00:34] Like I know Jessica would never say no to anyone. Now just make sure you ask first, don't just rock up unannounced because if they're a busy clinic, they're busy for a reason.

[00:00:43] So reach out to them, send them an email, just tell them that you're going to be in town and you want to catch up for a coffee and if you can, take a look around the clinic and I know from experience, we used to do this a lot at Proarch Podiatry, and I never said no to anybody, so I think you'll find [00:01:00] most nice podiatrists will say yes to you as well, unless they've got something to hide, then they may not be a nice podiatrist, but just keep that in mind, whenever you go to another town, reach out to podiatrists, see if you can catch up for a coffee, meet them, may make your trip partially tax deductible as well, but you will learn a lot.

[00:01:18] And the other benefit of doing this is the more that you connect with other podiatrists in other towns, down the track when you're at conferences, you will bump into each other again. And this is how you end up forming a nice tight network of podiatrists that you get to KNOW - LIKE - TRUST over a period of time.

[00:01:36] So, if you're traveling anywhere, reach out, send them an email first, get in contact with them, and then, uh, I'll tell you right now, you'll have a great network of podiatry friends that you'll use for many years to come. Okay. That's it for me. Bye.
