Approach Everything You Do With Intent (Even Repurposing)

26th - 27th of July, 2024 - CAIRNS

Approach Everything You Do With Intent was originally shot on April 10, 2022, almost two years ago. I'm using it again now because sometimes repurposing old content can be beneficial for you and your business.

I have identified five reasons why you should consider repurposing your older content. Old content could be a video, as I've done here, a blog article, or even a podcast, which is exactly what I did with Episode 317—Seeing Patients Beyond Their Masks with Chase Hughes

Five Reasons to Repurpose Your Content

1.  Your message may have been missed the first time: If your old content was really good, it should be shared a second time because, more often than not, many people missed it the first time you released it, and if the topic was important, then it is something you must do.

2.  Repurposing saves you time:  If you have other priorities at work or home, sometimes using old content is easier and faster.

3.  There is no need to develop a new idea:  If you produce content regularly, whether for your website, YouTube channel, newsletter, or social media pages, you may struggle to come up with new ideas.

4.  Unfortunate timing:  Sometimes events are out of your control. You may have a great idea, but you're unwell, have a tech issue, or your surroundings are not suitable for creating the new content. When I shoot a video or record a podcast, I need silence, or close to silence, which can be difficult if I'm working from home.

5.  Repetition is the mother of learning:  Even if your previous content was read, watched or listened to, seeing and hearing it again is always beneficial.  Episode 317, with Chase Hughes, is a perfect example of this.

I have not repurposed much of my content over the years, but when I have, it has always been for one of the five reasons above.

A Word of Warning

If you're repurposing a video, as I've done here, make sure it is not out of date. For example, in this video from April 2022, I can see that I was a little heavier than I am now, but it's not overly noticeable.

However, if I went back to a video from early 2020 when I had hair, then that would look a little odd. Small details are important when you're repurposing content.

Approach Everything You Do With Intent

In this video, I discuss approaching everything you do with intent, whether you're reading a book, listening to a podcast, or reviewing your systems and other tasks in your business.

The end result and what you learn and take away from each task will be far greater when you approach everything you do with intent, and this is something you also want to teach your team: approach every task with intent.

Do You Think Differently from the Average Podiatrist?

If you do, I want to let you know you’re not alone. Most of my coaching clients feel the same way, which is why they chose to work with me over a larger cookie-cutter coaching company.

My coaching clients do not have big egos; they are quiet achievers and like to fly under the radar. However, they do want to evolve their podiatry businesses into something special, something they can be proud of and say, "This is mine."

If this sounds like you, we should talk.

I recommend following the link below to my calendar and scheduling a free 30-minute Zoom call with me. I guarantee that after we talk, you will have far more clarity on what is best for you and your business.
